Convinced that the service they are providing does not violate the law, the site continues to operate under a new domain name. One of the owners told TorrentFreak that they don't intend to stop until a court shuts them down.

Firstrowsports.tv

Yesterday, several sports streaming sites had their domain names seized by the Department of Justice and Homeland Security's ICE unit. Leading up to the Super Bowl this weekend, a total of 307 domain names were seized, 16 of which provided access to online streams of popular sporting events.

Commenting on the actions, ICE Director John Morton was quick to declare victory, but perhaps this came a little too soon. Firstrow, one of the largest sites which had several of its domains taken over by the US government, is not planning to give up the 'battle' anytime soon.

Quickly after its firstrow.tv, firstrowsports.tv, firstrowsports.net and firstrowsports.com domains were seized, the service was operating as normal under a new domain – Firstrowsports.eu. Talking to TorrentFreak, one of the owners said that the US has stepped out of line by simply taking away their property.

"The US has prided itself on their 'innocent before proven guilty' mantra, yet is clearly hypocritical when it comes to this," the Firstrow co-owner told us. "Numerous times the US has seized domains, before the defendants have been proven guilty in a court of law."

"What is the point of trying to approve SOPA and PIPA if they do the same without these laws," he questioned, referring to the pending US bills that would make it even easier to seize allegedly infringing domains.

The response of Firstrow stands in sharp contrast with that of ICE Director John Morton yesterday. "In sports, players must abide by rules of the game, and in life, individuals must follow the laws of the land. Our message is simple: abiding by intellectual property rights laws is not optional; it's the law," Morton said.

This comment forms the base of the dispute. What is the law of the land? The people who operate Firstrow don't live in the US, and neither are their servers located there. In fact, Firstrow says that their site is perfectly legal where they are based, so they will continue business as usual.

"Since we don't live in a third-world country here, the courts decide if something is illegal not the entertainment industry lobbies. We will continue until a court decides that the site is illegal, but for now we've seen three court decisions on this matter that say it is not." Firstrow's co-owner is referring to the court cases in Spain, where sites that merely link to copyrighted works have been declared legal. Rojadirecta, a site very similar to Firstrow, won in Spanish courts twice.

In the US, however, things work differently. Two operators of streaming sites have already been arrested and await criminal trials. And if the domains are linked to foreigners, the US believes it has the authority to take them over if they are deemed to infringe copyrights.

This stance has raised eyebrows among foreign governments. A few months ago the European Parliament adopted a resolution which criticized US domain name seizures. According to the resolution these measures need to be countered as they endanger "the integrity of the global internet and freedom of communication."

Yesterday's actions show that the US authorities are not impressed by the international critique, just as Firstrow refuses to change course after yet another domain seizure. Firstrow says ICE is wasting its time and continues to provide access to sports fans all across the world, who are otherwise unable to see their beloved games.

"ICE must have a lot of spare time if they can waste it on these domain seizures," Firstrow's co-owner says. "They should invest time in the real important stuff , instead of chasing people who have no other option than to watch a sports game for free."

Superbowl Crackdown On Sport Streaming Websites

In a new round of seizures the US authorities have taken control of domain names belonging to several popular sports streaming sites including Firstrowsports.tv, Firstrowsports.com and Soccertvlive.net. All affected sites now redirect to a notice from DOJ/ICE. In common with last year's campaign, the new round of seizures appears to be part of another "Super Bowl Crackdown" targeting sites that link to unauthorized sports streams.

Firstrowsports.tv

US authorities began another round of domain name seizures a few hours ago, targeting several sports streaming sites. Thus far, neither the Department of Justice nor Homeland Security's ICE unit have officially commented on the seizures, but it can't be a coincidence that sports streaming sites are being targeted a few days before the Super Bowl is due to be aired.

The targets of today's seizure round include Firstrowsports.tv, Firstrowsports.com, Firstrowsports.net and Soccertvlive.net, but more may be added in the coming hours (see update below). The former remains operational via Firstrow.tv.

For the first time, seized domains also include the .TV extension as Firstrowsports.tv is now displaying the familiar seizure banner. The .TV domain belongs to islands of Tuvalu, but is operated by the US-based company Verisign. Last year there was a similar round of domain seizures during the lead up to the largest American sports broadcast. At the time the feds seized a dozen domains including Firstrow.net and Atdhe.net.

Both sites continued to operate under different domain names, several of which have been taken down today. The seizures in 2011 also targeted domains linked to the website Rojadirecta, owned by the Spanish company Puerto 80. Despite being declared legal by two courts in Spain, the US authorities ruled that Rojadirecta was a criminal operation. The company has been fighting in US courts to get the decision overturned, but so far without luck.

Another target during the seizures last year was ChannelSurfing.net, which was operated by the Texan Brian McCarthy. The 32-year-old McCarthy was later taken into custody on suspicion of criminal copyright infringement, and he is currently awaiting his trial.

The extent of the fallout of the new "Super Bowl Crackdown" will become apparent in the coming days. It will, however, once again fuel the censorship debate which exploded last month with the SOPA/PIPA protests and the MegaUpload shutdown.

MegaUpload Founder Denied Bail At Extradition Hearing

The founder of MegaUpload, Kim Dotcom, has been denied bail in an extradition hearing in New Zealand this morning. Dotcom, who was raided by 76 armed police in helicopters yesterday, is wanted in the United States alongside other key MegaUpload employees on racketeering, copyright infringement and money laundering charges.

The drama and fallout from yesterday’s raids against the infrastructure of MegaUpload and its management team continued this morning when founder Kim Dotcom appeared in a New Zealand court.

Dotcom, a 37-year-old German citizen with joint New Zealand and Hong Kong residency, appeared alongside three other MegaUpload employees – site co-founder Mathias Ortmann, 40, chief marketing officer Finn Batato, 38, and programmer and networking expert Bram van der Kolk, 29.

The hearing in an Auckland district court heard how local police had been working with US authorities since 2011 culminating in raids yesterday on ten private and business locations. Among them was Kim’s residence, Dotcom Mansion, and what happened there resembles something from a movie.

New Zealand police sent 76 officers, some armed, to raid the property which reportedly housed 15 individuals including bodyguards, security staff, women and children. “Police arrived in two marked police helicopters. Despite our staff clearly identifying themselves, Mr Dotcom retreated into the house and activated a number of electronic locking mechanisms,” Detective Inspector Grant Wormald told the court.

“While police neutralized these locks he then further barricaded himself into a safe room within the house which officers had to cut their way into,” Wormald added. At the hearing, the first step to being extradited to the United States, all four defendants were denied bail and are due to reappear at another hearing next Monday. Police say there are no intentions of trying the defendants under local laws.

“This particular type of action around internet copyright infringement is a first in New Zealand in terms of an overseas person being attempted to be extradited to the United States,” said Intellectual Property Lawyer Rick Shera, as quoted by TVNZ.

Three other defendants – a German, a Slovakian and an Estonian – all remain at large.

The Pirate Bay Will Stop Serving Torrents

In a month The Pirate Bay will no longer offer downloads of .torrent files. Instead, the largest torrent site on the Internet will only provide so-called magnet links to its visitors.

After half a decade of loyal service, The Pirate Bay shut down its trackerin November 2009.

The Pirate Bay argued that BitTorrent trackers have been made redundant by technologies such asDHT and PEX. In addition, The Pirate Bay team said that they might move away from torrents entirely and switch to offering magnet links instead.

“We’re talking to the other torrent admins on doing magnet links and DHT and PEX for all sites. Moving away from torrents and trackers totally – like pick a date and all agree ‘from this date, we’ll not support torrents anymore’,” a Pirate Bay insider told TorrentFreak at the time.

Now, two years later, that date is coming soon.

Today, The Pirate Bay made the first step towards this new future by making magnets thedefault download links instead of torrents. TorrentFreak was further informed that in “a month or so” the largest torrent site on the Internet will stop serving torrent files indefinitely.

The announcement is bound to lead to confusion and uncertainty among many torrent users, but in reality very little will change for the average Pirate Bay visitor. Users will still be able to download files, but these will now be started through a magnet link instead of a .torrent file.

The Pirate Bay team told TorrentFreak that one of the advantages of the transition to a “magnet site” is that it requires relatively little bandwidth to host a proxy. This is topical, since this week courts in both Finland and the Netherlands ordered local Internet providers to block the torrent site.
Perhaps even better, without the torrent files everyone can soon host a full copy of The Pirate Bay on a USB thumb drive, which may come in handy in the future.

Unlike the site’s users, existing torrent sites that scrape .torrent files from The Pirate Bay will have to make some drastic changes. If they want to continue serving .torrent files they will have to fetch them from DHT. Also, hotlinks to .torrent files will stop working and will soon redirect to The Pirate Bay’s detail page for the files in question.

One of the potential downsides of using magnets is that it could take a bit longer for downloads to start, especially if there are relatively few people sharing a file. This is because the .torrent file has to be fetched from other users instead of being downloaded directly from the site. More background on these and other technicalities can be found here.

The good news is that all mainstream BitTorrent clients support magnet links. This wasn’t the case back in 2009, but when The Pirate Bay hinted that in the future they could become a magnet-only site, all developers quickly made their clients fully compatible.

There’s no doubt that a torrent-less Pirate Bay will certainly mark the end of an era. At the moment it’s hard to predict what the impact of The Pirate Bay’s decision will be on the BitTorrent community. But torrents, however, will never disappear completely.

British TVShack founder can be extradited to the US, judge rules

A judge has ruled that Richard O'Dwyer, the 23-year-old creator of sharing site TVShack, can be extradited to the United States. In that month police officers from the UK and America seized equipment from his home in South Yorkshire.

No criminal charges followed from the UK authorities, but the US Customs and Border Protection agency wants O'Dwyer handed to them -- hence this hearing.

Judge Quentin Purdy of Westminster Magistrates' Court has ruled that the US authorities should be able to extradite the student. "There are said to be direct consequences of criminal activity by Richard O'Dwyer in the USA, albeit by him never leaving the north of England," Purdy said, as quoted by The Guardian.
"Such a state of affairs does not demand a trial here if the competent UK authorities decline to act, and does, in my judgment, permit one in the USA."

The ruling comes in light of growing concern over Britain's extradition treaty with the United States, especially in the internet era. Gary McKinnon, a British hacker with Asperger's syndrome, is still fighting extradition to the US after breaking into Nasa and Pentagon servers in 2005.

In their coalition manifesto, David Cameron and Nick Clegg stated, "We will review the operation of the Extradition Act -- and the US/UK extradition treaty -- to make sure it is even-handed". O'Dwyer's mother was quoted as saying "They need to pull their fingers out."

The student's defence team pointed out that the only UK prosecution of a similar site, TV-Links, ended last year with the case being thrown out. The defence plans to appeal Purdy's decision.

Super League New Rules For 2012 Season

These new rules will operate from Boxing Day, which is scheduling three Super League friendlies.

The law changes and amendments in full are:

Players carry on running or pass the ball after the referee has called ‘held.’

Players often struggle to hear the referee call held in an upright tackle. The award of a penalty is often seen as harsh. To allow the team to retain possession and continue with a play the ball the following Law should be amended.

Amendment – Section 11 – Law 6: Verbal instructions to resolve doubt.

If any doubt arises as to a tackle, the Referee should give a verbal instruction to ‘play on’ or shout ‘held’ as the case may be. If the referee is of the opinion that the player in possession could not hear the ‘held’ call before passing or running off with the ball he should instruct the player to play the ball at the point where the player was when ‘held’ was called unless it occurs after the fifth play the ball in which case a handover will apply.

Touching the corner post when in possession is not touch in goal.

Because the corner flags do not always stay upright it is felt that they could have an adverse effect on the game if they are not erected correctly. Some of them lay at an angle which could both help and hinder a team in defence. Currently if they are touched at any time while in possession then they are considered touch in goal.

Amendment – Section 9 – Notes 2 – Corner Post

A corner post placed at the intersection of a touch-line and a goal line is in touch in goal if the ball touches it when no one is in possession. If a player carrying the ball comes into contact with the corner post during general play then they are not touch in goal. It is a duty of the touch-judge to replace a corner post which is displaced during the game.

Interchange to be reduced from 12 from four named players to 10 from four named players.

Amendment – Section 4 Law 2 (a) – Substitutes

Each team may nominate a maximum of four replacements before the start of the game. Their names along with those of the players must be given to the referee before the start of the game. A maximum of 10 interchanges will be allowed from the 17 named players.

Standardise method of conversion and penalty goals

Amendment – Section 6 Law 6 – Goal how scored

A goal is scored if the whole of the ball at any time how scored during its flight passes on the full over the opponents’ cross bar towards the dead ball line after being kicked by a player (and not touching or being touched in flight by any other player) in any of these circumstances:–

(a) by a place kick or a drop kick after a try has been scored and counts two points

(b) by a place kick or a drop kick when a penalty kick has been awarded and counts two points.

Standardise when players are in touch and gone touch in goal or dead in goal

The times when players are classified as in touch or not is quite confusing in different areas of the field. The new law will standardise when a player is in touch or has taken the ball dead. Where the ball has bounced in the field of play any player who plays it will need to be in the field of play otherwise they will be deemed as having taken the ball into touch, touch in goal or dead. Players must let the ball touch the ground (which includes the touch line, touch in goal line and dead ball line) or an object in touch for it to be classed as in touch if the ball has first bounced in the field of play. If the ball is caught on the full from a kick by a player who is in touch then the kicking team will be deemed as having taken the ball into touch, touch in goal or dead.

Amendment – Section 9 Law 1 Ball in touch

The ball is in touch when it or a player in contact with it touches the touch-line or the ground beyond the touch line or any object on or outside the touch line except when a player, tackled in the field of play, steps into touch as he regains his feet in which case he shall play the ball in the field of play.

The ball is in touch if a player jumps from touch and while off the ground touches the ball providing the ball has not bounced in the field of play. The ball is not in touch if during flight it crosses the touch line but is knocked back by a player who is off the ground after jumping from the field of play.

Amendment – Section 9 Law 2 (a) Touch in Goal

The ball is in touch in goal when it or a player in contact with it touches the touch in goal-line, or any object on or outside the touch in goal line.

Addition – Section 9 Law 2 (b) Dead in Goal

The ball is dead in goal when it or a player in contact with it touches the dead ball line or any object on or outside the dead ball line.

Addition – Notes to Section 9 4. Ball dead and in touch

Where the ball which has bounced or has been passed in the field of play or the in goal area comes into contact with a player in touch, touch in goal or over the dead ball line, the ball is deemed to have been made dead or taken into touch by that player. Where the ball is played at from a kick that has not bounced in the field of play by a player who has at least one foot on the touch-line or in touch then the ball is deemed to have been made dead or taken into touch by the kicking team.

Remove Note – Dead Ball Line Restarts

Should a kick be made dead by a defending player straddling the dead ball line or touch in goal line, play will restart with a goal line drop-out.

The following law changes apply to Super League Academy (Under-20) and Super League Cup (Under-18) competitions:

Interchange to be reduced from 12 from 4 named players to 8 from 4 named players.

Section 4 Law 2 (a) – Substitutes

Each team may nominate a maximum of four replacements before the start of the game. Their names along with those of the players must be given to the referee before the start of the game. A maximum of 8 interchanges will be allowed from the 17 named players.

Introduction to 2012 refereeing protocol:

“To ensure the game of Rugby League remains an attractive spectacle and to enable the match officials to best manage the conduct and flow of matches, referees will be encouraged to exercise their judgment where players infringe the rules. Intentional or reckless foul play; and persistent or deliberate technical infringements in order to gain an advantage will not be tolerated, however referees will be asked to assess the impact of these infringements on the conduct and flow of the match and act accordingly. Where possible, and where no direct advantage has been gained, play should be allowed to continue to ensure that the flow and conduct of the match is uninterrupted and stoppages are minimised.”

How To Download Our Movies For Free

The full movie has been uploaded to this website,if the website is busy you might get insufficient bandwidth to watch your movie.

With the new Real Player 11, you can download internet videos with one click.
Peer to peer software was not around then and all you had to offer were a list of Windows media streams & Real Player streams.

You could not guarantee anything, nobody knew who was broadcasting what, when, and for how long.

These streams seem to feature ESPN Asia or it's sister station StarSports Asia, however all that was going to change with the arrival of peer to peer technology.

<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455203155885725858" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_Ik8s3hxjJJQ/S7TGXgwomKI/AAAAAAAAAnw/_TY179TMAYY/s200/00036482-1BD5-140C-AB100C02AC1BF824.jpg" style="cursor: hand;
His ex wife who was jealous of him winning £1,250,000 on the national lottery bought a white rat and named it after him.

<img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5455204625566889554" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_Ik8s3hxjJJQ/S7THtDv7dlI/AAAAAAAAAn4/sqCOUb_zHJU/s200/gif.png" style="cursor: hand;
The Sports streams and the Movies parted company with White Rat Tv beginning broadcasts on Window Media streams. This picture on the right is from Oxford Utd v Exeter in the Blue Square Premier league click here . Shortly after their race, Mehdi Baala and Mahiedine Mekhissi Benabbad started to exchange pleasantries. Baala gave no quarter and was moved to headbutt Benabbad, who in turn unleashed a flurry of haymakers at his compatriot.

No clearcut winner in this one and for what it's worth, neither had much impact in the race. Baala, the Olympic 1,500 bronze medallist, was ninth, more than three seconds behind Kenya's Silas Kiplagat, the winner. Mekhissi-Benabbad, who is an Olympic 3,000 steeplechase silver medallist, was 11th, close to another two seconds further back.

According to Baala, the whole thing was a bit of a misunderstanding: "Seeing Mahiedine so dejected after the race I wanted to comfort him - something he certainly would never have done for me.

"I wanted to give him a friendly pat on the head but he took it badly."

Rojadirecta to reclaim domain names

Rojadirecta and other sites have launched legal challenges to seizures of their domain names by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), claiming what the government did was illegal.

Rojadirecta Website

You might remember our original article, click the link at the bottom of this page

Several web sites were taken offline by ICE in February, including the popular sports streaming web site Rojadirecta, on the grounds of alleged copyright infringement. Rojadirecta's parent company, Puerto80 has launched a lawsuit against the US government over the incident.

The company said that it did not violate copyright law and that it had requested the return of its domain names. It said that in late May the government told it that it would only return the domains if the web site agreed not to link to any US content. Puerto80 said that this was unacceptable, since it would prevent it from linking to legal material.

It filed a complaint in US District Court in New York, claiming that the government was violating the First Amendment, citing a number of previous cases where material was seized without justification.

In its complaint, Puerto80 claimed that it was inappropriate for the government to shut down a web site on the basis of probable cause to believe that some material that was linked, not hosted, on the web site might be infringing copyright, particularly when there was no advance notice given to the web site owner or users, which would have allowed them to contest the seizure.

The company further argued that linking to copyrighted material does not constitute copyright infringement, which was the basis for the seizure of the web site. It also said that the seizure did not meet the requirements of law, where it would be used as evidence or to prevent further criminal acts, which it claims do not apply to its web site.

Puerto80 has hired the intellectual property lawyers Mark A. Lemley, Ragesh K. Tangri, Johanna Calabria and Genevieve P. Rosloff from the Durie Tangri law firm.

Puerto80's legal team requested a ruling on its case by the end of June, but acknowledged that it could take up to 30 days for a decision to be handed down. It also requested that opposition papers from the government be filed by 23 June to prevent a delay in the ruling.

A number of other web sites that were seized by ICE have also launched legal challenges, including dajaz1.com, onsmash.com, and torrent-finder.com, according to Techdirt. It's likely that further lawsuits will be filed as the question mark over the domain seizures' legality grows.

READ OUR ORIGINAL ARTICLE

Another Premiership Player, Another Super Injunction

Another Premiership Football player has taken out a super injunction to protect his private life

Gareth Barry

Manchester City and England footballer Gareth Barry had an extramarital affair with a woman described in the press as a 23 year old leggy model. The woman wanted the press injunction taking out as well as Barry.

One of Barry's reasons for requesting the injunction was that if the story became public he would suffer "cruel chants" from fans. It is unclear if Barry's wife Louise knows anything about the affair yet.

Giles Coren risked prosecution over tweets he made hinting at Barry's injunction on 14th May, but he now looks unlikely to face charges. Well, a soccer player (who wasn't named in the British press, due to an aforementioned superinjunction) is hopping mad about a Ryan-Giggs-Imogen Thomas sex rumor, so he's suing Twitter and its users. We can only surmise that "the unnamed footballer" is Ryan Giggs. (Imogen Thomas is a Welsh model, by the way)

We cannot imagine a scenario in which suing Twitter and, what, thousands of users who retweeted @injunctionsuper's Ryan Giggs-Imogen Thomas sex rumor will be successful, and neither can the tweet-o-sphere.

A conservative estimate is that Giggs' reputation will be trashed far and wide. While we appreciate that Ryan Giggs was not explicitly named in the suit (superinjunction, remember?), if there's a soccer player with more motive to sue over an Imogen Thomas-Ryan Giggs sex tweet, then we're all ears.

This gem is getting retweeted as we speak:

Continue reading at NowPublic.com: Imogen Thomas-Ryan Giggs Rumor: Who's Suing Twitter? | NowPublic News Coverage http://www.nowpublic.com/tech-biz/imogen-thomas-ryan-giggs-rumor-whos-suing-twitter-2790092.html#ixzz1N0TldokZ

Doctor Who

Episode 13: The Wedding of River Song

Written by Steven Moffat

It's the big one.
